The Arts Space is located in Randolph Courtyard, due west of Apthorp House (10 Linden Street). Housed in a converted squash court building, it consists of two galleries, a painting studio, and a maker space.
The painting studio is located on the second floor of the Art Space, on the right. Canvases, acrylic paint, reference books, collage materials, and other art-making tools are available for students and affiliated members. All are welcome to come in and paint, work on a project, brainstorm, or work on homework in a different setting.
The makerspace is located across from the painting studio, on the second floor of the Arts Space. It is home to state-of-the-art design technology, including a 3D printer and laser cutter. The makerspace is a place to explore and experiment with the latest technology through various computer-aided programs. Our machines have Sketchup, Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Professional Movie Maker installed.
The Art Space includes two large gallery spaces that occupy the entire bottom floor of the building. One space has been renovated for gallery use with track lighting, pinup boards, and a projection screen. The other space is a service/set/squash court. Students and affiliates are encouraged to submit ideas for exhibitions and solo art showcases.
