Below is information for student groups or university departments who wish to table in Adams House.
-
Authorization:
- Groups or departments must receive prior approval from the Adams House Administrator to set up a table.
- Tabling requests should be submitted to the Adams House Administrator (adams@fas.harvard.edu) at least 2 business days before the desired date.
- Late requests (less than 2 business days in advance) may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
-
Only Adams House students, or Harvard University Faculty/Staff, can initiate tabling requests.
-
Scheduling and Location:
- Only one group is permitted to table at any given time.
- Tabling hours are between 9am and 7:30pm.
- The approved tabling location is the entry lounge of The Oaktel (1201 Mass Ave).
-
Set up should not obstruct mailboxes, building entry/exit points, or access to the servery or dining room.
-
Sales and Donations:
- If selling goods, a hawker/peddler (HP) license from the City of Cambridge is mandatory (except for printed reading materials like books and magazines). Obtain an HP license ($10/day) through the Student Engagement Team.
- For sales or donation collections, prioritize online transactions, preferably directing funds straight to the beneficiary organization.
-
Students should not be pressured or singled out to make purchases or donations while entering/exiting Adams House.
-
Policy Enforcement:
- Adams House staff retain the right to remove groups from tabling for violations of these guidelines or other university policies.
