As a child growing up in Michigan, it is rumored that I could name every dinosaur. Despite having since forgotten this information, I somehow managed to get a PhD from Columbia University, and graduate from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) with a BA in psychology and an MSW (Master of Social Work) in community organization. I am current a Joint Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Information and the School of Social Work at the University of Michigan and Part-Time Faculty at Boston College. I study the relationship between the social world and technology, complicating how we think about digital contexts and artificial intelligence. I also meet with my chosen family every Thursday night for six hours (8PM-2AM) —a group of brilliant Detroit artists and healers.

I am now entering my 4th year as a Resident Tutor in Adams House. I coordinate the wellness team, and support the writing and fellowships teams. I live on the 2nd floor of Russell with my wife, Kemeyawi, and our Italian Greyhound (Iggy), Karl Marx. Karl made me promise to add that: 1) he believes in love at first sight, and 2) he wants to meet you. yes, you.

Things I love: books, coffee (faro), horrible reality television, spicy food and hot sauce, long walks (you will probably see me around campus in a weighted vest walking Karl), and laughing.
