Kemeyawi Wahpepah
Hi! My name is Kemy. I am Kickapoo and Sac & Fox, and I grew up in the California Bay Area (Richmond). I graduated from Harvard (Quincy House) with an AB in Social Studies in 2009, and I spent the next eleven years teaching middle and high school humanities in Boston and New York City. I returned to Harvard in the fall of 2020 to pursue a PhD in Education, and I'm currently in my sixth year of the program. When I'm not reading and writing about how to challenge racism and settler colonialism in the US schools, I enjoy reading sci-fi/fantasy novels, listening to '90s playlists, and watching trashy reality TV with my husband, William, and our puppy, Karl Marx.
Things I love: astrology, bullet journaling, dogs, gluten-free food, The Office, supporting Native artists, tarot, teaching, and yoga.
You can reach out to me for career advice about: teaching, teacher coaching, curriculum development, academic publishing, or doctoral studies.
