My name is Maud Jansen, and I’m so thrilled to be a tutor in Adams. I grew up in Utrecht, the Netherlands and then moved to Chicago. I attended University of Chicago for college and majored in Fundamentals: Issues and Texts (philosophy and literature). Afterwards, I pursued a Masters in (bio)ethics. I am now a fourth year MD/PhD student in History of Science. My research looks at the history of care for frail older adults, and how medicine’s understanding of the frailty has changed over time.

In my free time, I like to go on walks, watch bingeable tv shows, play board games, explore new restaurants/cafes, visit museums, and do arts and craft/painting and travel.

Please feel free to reach out to me to chat about careers in medicine, the health humanities, your own interdisciplinary adventures, international experiences, CARE, wellness, and anything else.

Looking forward to meeting you!
